Welcome to the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Berks County Chapter. The Berks County Chapter is one of the chartered regional areas of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame authorized to perpetuate the memory of athletes, male and female, who have brought lasting fame and recognition to the Berks County area through their athletic achievements. Also eligible for such distinction are those individuals who have brought similar recognition through their contributions to sports in general in managerial, promotional, or other influential capacities in the area.
Beginning with its inaugural class of 1976, our Chapter has inducted 361 individuals into the Berks County HOF. Of those individuals, 32 are also enshrined in the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
If you are a sports-minded individual, we would like you to join the Berks County Chapter of over 380 members by going to the Membership page on our website. Each September we create a ballot of nominated individuals eligible to be inducted into the Berks County Chapter HOF. Becoming a member entitles you to vote for the best individuals to be inducted. Each April, we sponsor a banquet to induct approximately 9 individuals into the Berks Hall of Fame and we welcome you to join us at the banquet to honor the inductees.
The Berks County Chapter also distinguishes itself by awarding $9000 each year to eligible senior High School Student-Athletes. We do this through donations by individuals such as you during the year and our annual Golf Outing in August. Since we are 501(c)(3) exempt your donations are tax exempt under IRS rules and regulations.
We welcome your nominations for induction into the Berks County Chapter and we welcome your membership.
